The Seatmate from Hell

Another fellow passenger from hell. Ok, I got my upgrade and settled in, enjoying my complimentary glass of wine. Passengers continued to board and the seat beside me continued to remain open throughout most of the boarding process. Usually first class fills up pretty quickly, but not always, so no big deal.

As we approached scheduled takeoff time, there she came. A rather harsh looking woman with two large bags and a real attitude. I could see the look on the faces of the flight crew. They knew this was not going to be fun but they tried to accommodate her demands for a drink and for overhead space to stuff her oversized bags. They very professionally helped her get settled. She then makes a call on her cell phone to I surmised was her estranged husband. They apparently separated a week ago. She is in the aisle seat and passengers are streaming past, including children etc. She was loud and spoke to her husband like a dog, dropping f bombs and other expletives, just about every other word.

I really do not understand how some people can be so crude and rude in public. It really is disgusting. I could see the looks of people as they strolled by, on the way to their assigned seats. It was pitiful. I just rolled my eyes in an attempt to communicate that she is not with me. I think most got that. She did terminate her call when told but then continued to text through and after takeoff.

Rules just don't seem to apply to some people. Airborne now and listening to some good music via in flight Internet and Pandora, so all is not lost. Another glass of red wine, please!
